One of the perks of hosting OSFAA Championships in the area is that some of our local coaches get recognized with prestigious provincial awards. This happened not once, but twice in the first week of June at the AAA Girls and Boys Rugby Championships hosted in Peterborough. At the banquet for the girls JoAnne Robinson (Bayside Secondary) was recognized for all of her efforts both in our local high fields and gyms as well as with the Loyalist Lancers Women’s Rugby Program and the Belleville Bulldogs Rugby Club. With the Boys on Wednesday, Darrell Wright from Adam Scott CVI was recognized for all of his efforts at his alma matter and with his local high school sport executive as well as on the COSSA executive. Both recipients are well deserving of all of the kind words shared about them and excellent examples for the 900+ student-athletes that got to learn a little more about leadership from them both.
