In a bittersweet presentation at the AGM this year, Leslie Creeden was awarded the Pete Beach Award for all of her contributions to athletics and coaching at IE Weldon and the Kawartha and COSSA Executives. Angela Graham gave a moving presentation touching on all aspects of Leslie’s contributions from coach to colleague and mentor. She was a fantastic person and meant so much to so many over the course of her career. The award was presented to Leslie’s sister Jennifer and brother Paul with her parents in attendance as well. She was also awarded an Ontario Volunteer Service Award from the Government of Ontario for all of her involvement with sport over the course of her career. Richly deserved accolades for someone who left all of us on the executive and anyone involved in COSSA sport in a better place because of her dedication and hard work.
